Referee Code of Ethics

This year we will be using a three step process for referee registration

Step 1.  Registration Forms
Each referee will be required to submit a current registration form.  Please fill in the form completely, neatly and accurately.
1.  Ensure you indicate if you are requesting an upgrade.  See the Referee Advancement Page for further details
2.  Sign and date the form and check the appropriate box in Section 5
3.  Bring completed form along with the appropriate registration fee for your grade to the recertification clinic you attend

Step 2.  In-Service Training Sessions
Each referee will be required to attend a minimum of 5 hours of training during the proceeding 12 months.  The purpose of these sessions is to keep all referees current with changes to the Laws of the Game (LOTG), changes in USSF interpretations of the laws, discuss game situations that haveoccurred which you feel you would like clarification on and refresh your mechanics.  Other topics may be added at the discreation of the State Referee Committee.  Every attempt will be made to have sessions throughout the year in both regions of the state.  The dates, times and locations for these training sessions will be posted below and updated when appropriate.  Sessions will start in late August 2009 and run through early April 2010.  Please make sure you sign in on the attendance sheet for each session you attend.  At the first In-Services Training session you attend, you will receive a new LOTG book.  Attending a session will be the only way you will be able to receive a LOTG Book.

Step 3. Written Examination
Each referee will be required to take the current year referee exam appropriate to there grade a receive a minimum passing score.  The minimum passing scores vary based on your grade so please consult the Referee Administrative Handbook for these requirements.

Step 3a. Grade 7, 6, 5 Referees
All Grade 7, 6, 5 referees will also be required to pass one maintenance field assessment prior to registration and must be completed by December 15 or you may be downgraded.  Requirements for this assessment are listed in the Referee Administrative Handbook.  All maintenance assessments must be requested from the State Director of Assessments

Maintenance Assessment Letter

In addition to the maintenance field assessment, each referee must pass the USSF fitness test.  Fitness Test dates will be listed below once scheduled.
